School Field Trips
Zoo admission is free for organized school
groups Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00
p.m. for students up to age nineteen from
schools within the corporate limits of the City of
Houston.
Please complete the on-line Field Trip
Reservation Request and submit it at least
three weeks prior to your visit date. Day cares,
pre-schools, head starts, home schools, and
colleges are not eligible for the free school

The Houston Zoo offers a 20%
discount for classroom teachers in
the gift shop. By showing your school
identification badge or your home
school association membership card,
you are entitled to receive this
discount on gift shop products to be
used for educational purposes.
Educator Expeditions
If you are looking for more adventure, our
Educator Expeditions are made just for you. Each
year the Zoo and one of its education experts
leads a trip with a group of teachers to locations
around the world. You’ll investigate wildlife areas,
meet field researchers and scientists and be
introduced to local teachers and school children.  
We’ll share with you a whole new world of wildlife,
culture and fun!

You don't have to be a teacher to join the
adventure. This trip is designed for teachers,
spouses, friends and members of the community.

Home School Individual Classes
Students can sign up for Home School Individual Classes.  Series Classes are related, but
students may take any number of classes in each series.  
All classes are from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Curriculum is designed for K-8th.
$15 per student per class.

Registration includes participant only. Classroom space is limited and reserved for student
participants first. Adults and siblings are welcome to join on-grounds activities or enjoy the Zoo
on their own.  If classroom space is available, they are welcome to sit in. General Admission
applies to non-participants.
