Ikea
Barnslig Rand cost $3.99 2 pack
The sleeves are effective at keeping arms and shirts clean, easy on and off, wipes clean easily and seems to repel water!
|
The length and width adds more garnment protection and the catch all pocket keeps the floor clean(er) even helps this editors' 14 month old pick out those bits and chunks that he let slip away (eeew)
|
What I don't like about the item is the fact
it's not available online making it necessary
to make the trek from Pearland to the only
Ikea in Houston on the Katy freeway. I"m a
true Ikea devotee however and appreciate all
of the kid friendly accoutrment's and family
bathroom.

Construction Utensils
My son refused to use a knife and
avoided very runny foods because of
his aversion to spoons. These clever
utensils helped kick his "fingers only"
habit"
This is available online of course but
the price is steep enough without
having to pay for shipping. I found
these at Learning Express in the
Pearland Town Center.
I just know a mom came up with this great idea.
Public restrooms that have the standard issue
empty soap dispenser leave us no choice other
than to simply rinse off sticky finger or resort to
using up our baby wipes. These little strips of
soap paper are handy to have and easy to carry.
I carry mine in my wallet. Find these particular
strips online as well but shipping will bring the
convenience factor down in my opinion. I'm way
to practical for that so I purchased some at Pier
One on 518 for $1.00. The packaging is different
but the convenience the same.
When you push down on
the SquidSoap pump, a
marker puts a small ink
mark on your hand. The
ink is designed to wash
off but not until you’ve
washed your hands
thoroughly. Normally it
takes 15-20 seconds of
thorough scrubbing to
wash the ink mark off.
This is the period that
most professionals
suggest you wash your
hands.
I could not get my son to get his hands wet let alone
wash them until I discovered this soap.
The first week my boy washed his hands at least a
dozen times every morning. I found it at CVS on 518
and cr90 so I'm failry certain you can find it
just about anywhere. Cheap it is not!
It set me back about $16.00 but it was money well
spent. The novelty hasn't
worn off after a couple of months and there are times
he forgets to ink himself up and just washes his hands
because he has to!.
All of the experts advice you to be consistent
when training your little tike and leaving the
house sometimes is not such a good idea when
attempting to go commando but this little chair
allowed us the freedom to go about our business
without the fear of too many accidents. We used
in the car, at the park and everywhere we
needed a quick tee tee break. Disposal is a
breeze and quite sanitary.
It's very light weight and can fit in a diaper bag if
you're still using yours as a purse/toy/catch all
bag or fits under your car seat easily.
The down side is you can't find it locally an
must order it online but here's a link to an
online vendor that offers free shipping.
on the go potty
Down side #2 is the
replacement liners can get
a bit pricey if you're training
is taking more than a a day.
Ours lasted MONTHS! Hey
Rome wasn't built in a day.
The liners themselves have
an absorbant strip similar to
that in diapers that catches
and traps "liquid". My thrifty
and crafty solution was to
put a premie diaper in a
shopping bag or a sanitary
napkin.
