April 3 Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Houston Zoo You can see many animals here at the Zoo, but this is the only time you can see a bunny quite like this! Join us for this year’s Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, where kids can meet the Bunny himself! April 5 Astros Opening Day Street Festival-Minute Maid Park The party starts at 11:00 am on Crawford Street with the annual Opening Day Street Festival featuring vendor booths with great giveaways, food and fun! Event is free to the public and ends at 4:30 p.m. The pre game ceremonies for Opening Day are always an exciting event and this year, the Astros are honoring the men and women of NASA. Fans will also enjoy a group of former Navy Seals who will parachute into the ballpark!

April 17, 2010 Let Freedom Sing Pearland Parks and Recreation will host it's 4th annual "Let Freedom Sing" Talent Search. The preliminary competition will be held at the Pearland Town Center infront of a live audience. This years competition will include adult and youth divisions with competitiors between the ages of 8 years to 14 years performing 'God Bless America' and adults 15 years of age and up performing the 'National Anthem'. Eight finalist will be selected during the preliminary round. Each of the 8 finalist will perform at one of the Summer Concerts hosted during the months of May and June at Southdouwn Park. Two winners will be selected to perform at the city wide July 4th Celebration of Freedom to be held in the Pearland high-school football stadium. April 30 The Friendswood Police Department is sponsoring a Childrens Self Defense Class April 30th through May 2nd, 2010. This is a 3-day class open to children ages 5 to 12. One parent must attend the class with the child each day and parental participation is a MUST. The cost is $25.00 per child, payable on the first day of class.
